How to Snap Some Great Squirrel Photos
Since these camera-shy little guys scamper away at the slightest hint of human presence, there are some tips you should follow if you want to capture great images of them. The first of these tips is to exercise patience, lots of patience. As stated before, squirrels are quite skittish and as soon as they detect that they are being watched, they will speed away making your job of getting that perfect picture more difficult. It helps if you prepare your mind from the get-go to make several attempts before getting the perfect shot. Patience is also an excellent place to start because this next tip will require much of it. You should take some time to learn squirrel habits. When you do this you will be able to predict their moves and time your shots to capture the perfect image. Your timing is important. Timing in this situation is really the time of day. Squirrels are most active early in the morning or late afternoon. These are the best times to catch them in action. This other tip works for most wildlife animals. In order to get the ideal angle, you should aim from a height that is similar to the animal’s height. This means you may find yourself crouching a lot or better yet, laying down. Remaining as still as possible in this position will reduce the likelihood of you startling the animal and ruining your shot.
