Do you find yourself shivering as the sun goes down? Running out of blankets and sweaters to pile on? The furnace works fine, but the problem may be the insulation in your attic has been destroyed.
This time of year we see all types of wildlife — from squirrels to raccoons, mice and bats, hiding out in attics in an attempt to escape the cold. Wildlife are just like you and me, they want to stay warm.
Because they are living in attics, the insulation takes the brunt of their habits. Defecating and destroying the insulation in the process, these critters don’t care that your homes heat, integrity (and value) is being severely compromised in the process.
We encourage you to spend some time and inspect your attics as the temperature drops. If you see signs of damage, droppings or chewing, immediately call a professional for an inspection. The sooner you deal with any issues, the better off your home will be.
