Why Skedaddle Wildlife Control is Needed in Oakville
The Town of Oakville and its residents frequently face challenges associated with urban wildlife. Oakville has experienced rapid expansion over recent decades, but despite urban development many wildlife species have adapted to new conditions and are thriving. For the most part, Oakville residents and their wild neighbours are able to live side by side quite happily but conflicts do arise when animals seek shelter in attics, walls and chimneys. It’s at times like these that reliable wildlife removal services like Skedaddle are needed.
Skedaddle Humane Wildlife Control has been providing Oakville home and business owners with humane options for removing and excluding nuisance wildlife from their properties since 1989. Urban wildlife species have long made their home along Oakville’s lakeshore. The area’s mature tree canopy and ample green spaces help to support large populations of raccoons, squirrels and skunks. Increasingly however, newer subdivisions built north of the QEW are experiencing problems with mice, starlings and skunks. Skedaddle’s 30 years of experience servicing Oakville gives us a complete understanding of the area’s wildlife issues.

How do we remove wildlife from your home?
Skedaddle Humane Wildlife Control provides customized wildlife removal plans that take wildlife behaviour and biology into account. Whether you are dealing with mice in the basement or a family of raccoons in the attic, no two situations are exactly the same. The species involved, home construction, and the time of year must all be considered in a successful removal plan.
Urban wildlife will frequently make their homes inside of attics and walls leading to costly damage and unwanted stress for the homeowner. Skedaddle begins with a thorough inspection of your home and property to develop a plan of action that is both humane and effective long-term.
What is the “Humane” method of wildlife control?
Rather than setting traps and hoping to catch something, Skedaddle’s technicians use hands-on techniques to humanely remove nuisance wildlife and any babies from your home. We go where the animals go; that means on roofs, in attics and below decks. After the removal we go to work securing all wildlife entry points to ensure your home is protected against future incidents. The final step in our process is to clean up the mess left behind.
Skedaddle Wildlife in the Oakville Community
In 2011, increased complaints from residents about wildlife lead the Town of Oakville to develop an official wildlife strategy. As part of the implementation, Skedaddle Humane Wildlife Control Founder and President, Bill Dowd was invited to present to the Council Chamber at Town Hall about wildlife damage, disease and prevention techniques. Since then Skedaddle has spoken at other events hosted by the Town of Oakville in effort to provide homeowners with tips and techniques for preventing conflict with urban wildlife.
Skedaddle Humane Wildlife Control is also a supporter and partner of the Oakville & Milton Humane Society. We are proud to work with them to promote the humane treatment of animals and support their public education efforts. We show our support by attending the Oakville and Milton Mutt Strutt events, presenting at summer and March break camps and donating Christmas lights for their annual Tree of Lights festival.
